“CAREER PATHS” | Professional Development Week at ASFA

Students and alumni of the Athens School of Fine Arts (ASFA) are invited to attend “Career Paths”, a weekly program consisting of professional development events organized and curated by ARTWORKS.
ARTWORKS’ key objective in organizing this program is to map the ecosystem of contemporary art, trace its structures and practices and identify potential career paths for the students and recent graduates of ASFA. The aim is to encourage networking between students/graduates of ASFA and art professionals; identify possible links between the art field and other sectors; and pinpoint potential opportunities for developing collaborations.
The program will develop along two axes. During the mornings sessions, there will be open lectures, group discussions, meetings with distinguished professionals (visual artists, historians, curators, representatives of cultural institutions and art spaces, representatives of private initiatives and enterprises supporting cultural activities, etc.), while the participants will also have the chance to attend workshops on a number of topics (grant writing, using social media to leverage impact for communicating and promoting artistic work, artists’ rights and one-to-one sessions with intellectual property experts). Participation will be free and open to current and former students of both departments of ASFA (Department of Visual Arts and Department of Art History and Theory).
In the afternoon sessions, ASFA students and alumni will have the chance to benefit from one-to-one consultation and receive expert advice (portfolio reviews available upon registration).
The “Career Paths” week is held as part of ASFA’s Professional Development Week program (10-14 & 17-21 October 2022).
