ARTWORKS Athens Curatorial Residency (A/ACR) is an initiative designed for international curators and art writers seeking to engage meaningfully with Athens’ contemporary art scene.
The residency provides a framework for critical inquiry, fostering meaningful exchanges with local artists, institutions, and cultural practitioners. Structured around curated studio visits, field explorations, and discursive sessions, A/ACR will enable the guest curators to navigate the city’s artistic currents and socio-political landscape.
Each residency will be tailored to the research interests of the visiting curator, culminating in a public presentation or performative intervention that will reflect their engagement with the local art scene.
A/ACR offers a supportive environment for curatorial development, providing accommodation, shared workspace, transportation, and a daily stipend for a maximum duration of six weeks. Open to experienced curators actively developing exhibitions or research projects, the residency prioritizes applicants whose practice demonstrates a critical approach and a commitment to fostering cross-cultural discourse.
