We invite you to Prisca’s Meslier curatorial talk, moderated by our dear fellow and curator Eva Vaslamatzi. Prisca is currently the ARTWORKS Curator-in-Residence and during her conversation with Eva, she will reflect on her residency in Athens and how she has been experiencing the city as a Mediterranean laboratory shaped by artistic engagements, collective and nonprofit initiatives, and dynamic circulation. Drawing on encounters with the emerging local scene, the discussion will explore how myth, heritage, and vernacular knowledge inform contemporary artistic and curatorial practices.
The talk, “Currents of the Mediterranean: Notes from an Athenian Residency,” will also touch upon island-related perspectives and the shared cultural currents that influence curatorial approaches grounded in dialogue, situatedness, and interconnected geographies. Prisca’s residency is part of the curatorial exchange program between ARTWORKS (Greece) and FRAC Corsica.
