ART ATHINA X ΑRTWORKS EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM 2026

In the context of Art Athina 2026, the Hellenic Art Galleries Association is organizing, for the 7th year, an educational program in collaboration with the ARTWORKS team for students of the Athens School of Fine Arts.

How does a gallery operate? What does a curator do? How does an artist speak about their work today? What does it mean today to be an emerging artist or an art historian? How is contemporary art produced, presented, and circulated in Athens?

The Art Athina 2026 Educational Program opens this conversation by bringing students into direct contact with professionals from the contemporary art field.

The program invites students from the Department of Visual Arts and the Department of Theory and History of Art to participate in a series of meetings with professionals from the contemporary art sector. Artists, gallery owners, art historians, and curators from institutions and museums will welcome students into their spaces, guide them through exhibitions, and artists will speak about their work and artistic practice.

The aim of the program is to introduce students to art professionals, foster an understanding of the Athens art scene, and familiarize them with the professional field in which they may become active in the future.
