At ARTWORKS, our mission is to support and amplify the voices of contemporary artists and curators within and outside Greece. In our initial phase, with the support of our founding donor, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF), we have diligently mapped the local art scene, identifying and nurturing emerging and mid-career arts professionals who have now become part of an ever-growing network across the fields of visual arts, moving image and dance.

As we transition to our next phase, we remain committed to further empowering the local art scene and provide comprehensive support through resources, opportunities and access to platforms that will enable Greek artists to gain further recognition and visibility. We seek to cultivate meaningful connections between the local talent and international audiences, and contribute to creating a supportive work environment for professionals who are actively defining the future of art.

Building on this momentum, ARTWORKS has developed five key areas of action:

ARTWORKS Connects

Enhances the visibility of the local art scene internationally through residencies and exchange programs.

ARTWORKS Funds

Nourishes artistic creation by financially supporting new productions.

ARTWORKS Partners

Collaborates with cultural organizations, international networks and institutions to stimulate interest in the arts.

ARTWORKS Preserves

Collects resources through creative initiatives, redistributing them to support cultural projects.

ARTWORKS Reads

Explores the dynamic intersections of art history, theory, and critique through new commissions and the publication of original texts.
