On Wednesday, December 17th at 18:30, independent curator Nikolaos Akritidis will be in conversation with Serra Yentürk, director of SAHA Association. Following a six-week residency in Istanbul as part of the ARTWORKS – SAHA curatorial exchange, Nikolaos returns with new reflections on the city – its public spaces, cultural rhythms, and the stories embedded in its urban fabric. Together with Serra, they will explore what it means to “read” a city, moving from everyday encounters to the literary histories that shape Istanbul’s identity. Nikolaos will also present Periodical Observations, his new editorial project centered on artist writing and the histories of spaces where coffee and tea are served.
Reading Istanbul offers a vivid glimpse into the city’s dynamic cultural scene, including impressions from the opening phase of the 18th Istanbul Biennial. Don’t miss this engaging talk that brings research, place, and creative practice into dialogue.
Nikolaos’s residency is part of the long-standing partnership and ongoing curatorial exchange program between ARTWORKS and SAHA.
