Konstantinos Papanikolaou, choreographer, dancer and SNF ARTWORKS Dance Fellow 2021, will travel to Hamburg to participate for a month (August 2023) in a residency program at the organisation K3 – Zentrum für Choreographie, in partnership with ARTWORKS.
During his residency at K3 Zentrum für Choreographie, Konstantinos will develop his research around fad dances- dances that are characterized by a short burst of popularity. He will explore the genealogy of these dances, their common characteristics, the aspects that have to be changed each decade to maintain something popular and the identities that are projected. Through his research, he will further examine the function of memory.
