Maria Louizou, visual artist and SNF ARTWORKS Fellow 2020, was selected by the Delfina Foundation for a two-month residency in London. During her residency at Delfina Foundation, Maria will continue her recent explorations into electronic compositions, to which she intends to integrate aspects of her ongoing live vocal practice. To achieve this, she plans to use her own voice as her main medium and to experiment with loop segments. Furthermore, during her stay in London, she intends to explore the vast costume collection at the V&A Museum, which she is interested in examining as inhabited sculptural spaces for the human body; as well as also the collection of classical sculpture at the British Museum, since the representation of the female body in art history is a key theme in her research and practice.
