“GROUNDING”, SOLO EXHIBITION BY VASILIS PAPAGEOGIOU

Callirrhoë presents the second solo exhibition by Vasilis Papageogiou at the gallery, titled Grounding. Working through molding and casting, he examines how built environments, particularly those shaped by tourism and real estate overdevelopment, intervene in and transform natural landscapes. In this context, alluvial deposits such as bricks and concrete increasingly merge with limestone, forming hybrid terrains continuously reshaped by sun, sea, salt and wind. For the purpose of his presentation Papageorgiou produced a series of works that function as negative spaces: forms to be reinterpreted materially and conceptually as tools for reconsidering landscape and history.
