Eleni Riga
Curatorial Residency Program in Buenos Riga: July 2026

Eleni Riga is an independent curator, cultural producer and writer based in Athens, Greece. Her practice focuses on the intersection of ecologies and feminisms.

She founded the Office of Hydrocommons in 2022 and has since been leading it as a curatorial initiative exploring water and body politics through exhibitions, public programs, residencies, and publications in partnership with ATOPOS cvc and various national and international collaborators. As an independent curator, she has realized international exhibitions such as Winter Nights, a group exhibition at BO – The Association of Visual Artists Oslo and Case_L, a solo exhibition by Georgia Sagri at Kunsthalle Fri Art Fribourg in Switzerland. Previously, she contributed to the Adult and Academic Programs at MoMA in New York City, served as Director of the Contemporary Art Department of Eleusis 2023 – European Capital of Culture in Elefsina, Greece and worked as a curatorial assistant for documenta 14 across Athens, Greece, and Kassel, Germany.

She holds a BA in Communication, Media, and Culture from Panteion University in Athens, and an MA in Curatorial Studies from Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. She also completed the curatorial course at Konstfack – University of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm, Sweden.

She has participated in residencies including Cité Internationale des Arts x Institut Français in Paris and GENERATOR at 40mcube in Rennes, France; Onassis AiR in Athens, Greece; the G. & A. Mamidakis Foundation residency in Agios Nikolaos, Greece; and ARCAthens.
