Our mission at ARTWORKS is to champion and elevate the contemporary community of artists within and outside Greece.
During our initial operational phase, with the support of our founding donor, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF), we have diligently mapped the local art scene, identifying and nurturing emerging and mid-career art professionals working in the visual arts, moving image, dance and curating.
As we transition into the next phase, we are committed to further empowering these artists and leverage Greece’s burgeoning reputation in the international art world.

Nourishes artistic creation by financially supporting new productions.
Collaborates with cultural organizations, international networks and institutions to stimulate interest in the arts.
Collects resources through creative initiatives, redistributing them to support cultural projects.
Explores the dynamic intersections of art history, theory, and critique through new commissions and the publication of original texts.
For the launch of our new program, we are announcing the inauguration of a bilateral exchange curatorial program between Athens and Istanbul in collaboration with our long-standing partner SAHA Association. This initiative will offer to the participants the opportunity and the means to research and engage with the art scene of each hosting country through a tailored-made residency program.
